An affordable high-end, fully loaded pre-runner, the X-18 is designed by off-road racers with Baja racing in mind. It can handle the toughest terrain from Baja to Glamis. The X-18 is professionally designed and engineered in SolidWorks.

The X-18 utilizes some of the finest engineered parts available off-the-shelf and needs no modifications to play hard. The X-18 utilizes a GM Ecotec 2.2 liter (2200cc) fuel injected dual overhead cam power plant that produces approximately 170HP and 155 foot lbs of torque at 5500 RPM.

The X-18 power train is overbuilt to ensure reliability in the off-road world by utilizing chromoly gears in the heavy-duty gearbox, 930cvs chromoly axels and an oversized radiator.

With an automatic transmission, power steering, a dual keyed ignition (low speed of 35MPH and high speed 100MPH), heated seats, Simpson 5-point safety harnesses, and side window safety nets, the X-18 can play hard, but still has the family and family safety in mind.

Mark Foster, founder of The Solder Joint relocated to Indiana and PCI Race Radios took advantage of the opportunity to open a second, more convenient location for our Racing customers and expand into the Marine and Public Safety Industry.

PCI Race Radios, Inc. has hired Mark “Hollywood” Lowman, and he will continue to manage the Solder Joint, a DBA of PCI Race Radios, Inc. “I’m excited about The Solder Joint’s now expanded line of products and increased inventory levels, this is exactly what we needed to service our customers better,” commented Mark Lowman, Manager of the Solder Joint.

In the purchase of the business, PCI also acquired a new 20’ trailer to better support our racers in the desert. Our 40’ trailer will be at the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge race, while our 20’ service trailer will be at the MORE Barstow race.

The Dune Tour joins fores with Yamaha to create the biggest event in the California Sand for all off-road, sand, and outdoor enthusiasts.

PGI Media, Inc. is proud to announce an exciting new development for the Glamis stop of The Dune Tour in March. We are incorporating the Yamaha Rhino Rally with this stop of the Dune Tour and will be titling it “The ‘09 Yamaha Rhino Rally at The Dune Tour, presented by Yamaha.” What began in 2004 as a series of fun-filled gatherings has launched into a 4-event series stopping at different dune locations. The First stop of the 2009 Dune Tour will take place in Glamis, Calif., March 20 and 21, 2009, and will feature all of the family-friendly activities that made the previous stops so successful, including: a scavenger hunt, bon fire, movie premier, a Show & Shine contest (with new classes), KidZone, Karaoke Party, raffle (with thousands of dollars in prizes), an ATV certification course, dune clean-up, and more. Save Johnson Valley Fun Ride a Huge Success

3000 plus people attended and 300 hand-written scoping letters were collected.

The Twentynine Palms, CA Marine Corps base is proposing an expansion that could include the Johnson Valley OHV area. Johnson Valley is the largest open area in the country, located just east of Los Angeles, and is a mecca for off-road recreation including many events like off-road racing and competitive rock crawling.

BRP/Billet Racing Products, Inc and American Motorcyclist Association, District 37 (AMA D37) teamed up this weekend to put on the “Save Johnson Valley Fun Ride.” The ride was held at Cougar Buttes in the Johnson Valley OHV Area. An estimated 3000 plus people attended the event. The fantastic turnout was a testament to how important this area is to the entire OHV community.

The main goal of the event was to raise awareness about this issue. It is very important that the OHV community, as a whole, be involved in the public process the Marines are going through in their expansion efforts. The public has three opportunities to shape the outcome of this expansion effort. We can make specific scoping comments, respond to the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIS) and lastly respond to the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS). Both the Off-Road Business Association (ORBA) and AMA D37 will have template letters available for their members and the general public to use on their websites throughout this process. “Giving the OHV community the education and tools to be a part of this process is the goal of both ORBA and AMA D37. We believe getting end users involved is very important in this fight” stated Jerry Grabow, AMA D37 Off-Road President. AMA D37 has also launched a new website, www.savejv.com, and all of the template letters will be available on that website as well. We encourage everyone that wants to see continued public recreation in Johnson Valley to visit the website and send their own personalized letter.

Besides raising awareness about the issue, another goal of this event was to unite the entire off-road community while at the same time providing a weekend of fun for the entire family. There were things to do for every type and skill level of off-roader. We had a kid’s track, several motorcycle loops, an ATV/UTV loop and two 4 wheel drive runs. Other attractions offered at the event were a rock crawling demo and trials riding demo. Jim Rios, President of BRP stated “I am very proud of how this event brought together all aspects of the off-road community. Together we are a much stronger force.”

And be telecast worldwide on ESPN International

NBC Sports will air the 2008 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 on Sunday, Dec. 14th at 1PM ET/10AM PT. Produced by Aura360 in association with NBC and SCORE International, the one-hour special will feature green flag to checkered flag coverage of the 41st running of the granddaddy of all desert races. This year, the treacherous 631.35-mile course designed by legendary Sal Fish on the majestic northern part of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula was regarded as one the most technical and taxing courses in decades, with many vehicles falling prey to the terrain. The legacy of the race lived on; with harsh conditions, fierce competition, and unforeseen threats cementing its legendary status in the realm of off-road racing.

This TV special will chronicle the endurance, nerve, and luck that carried the victors to the finish line where they emerged from the dust to claim their fame and glory. It will highlight the battle for the overall victory among the Motorcycle classes as well as the competition for the overall win among two-wheel victories.
It will celebrate the overall motorcycle victory of the No. 1x Honda team of Robby Bell, Sun City, Calif./Kendall Norman, Santa Barbara, Calif./Johnny Campbell, San Clemente, Calif., as well as the overall car and truck win by Roger Norman, Reno., Nev./Larry Roeseler, Irvine, Calif., in the No. 8 Ford F-150 SCORE Trophy-Truck.

The legendary desert race is held mid-November each year and is the season-finale of the five-race SCORE Desert Series and season point championships were decided in all 28 Pro and 6 sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs. Competing in this year’s Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 were 347 entries from 39 U.S. States and 24 countries. This year’s race was a ‘loop’ race starting and finishing in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. Ricky Johnson Race Series Rumor Confirmed

Since the very successful race that Ricky Johnson hosted at the Perris Auto Speedway on November 8th there have been rumors of a series coming in 2009. We have finally been able to confirm those rumors: There will be a 3 round Ricky Johnson Offroad Grand Prix. All of the information that we have is listed below. As soon as we get more we will let you know!
