The View From Vendor Row:
Which weekend is Halloween weekend? We don’t know either, so we are prepared for trick-or-treaters on both weekends! What is clear was that this was the true opening weekend for Glamis! The place was racing with excitement and groups of friends were once again circled up for a good time.
We opened our Sand Addiction and Side X Side Action store this weekend on Vendors Row. Nick, Cody and I manned the booth. Trick-or-treaters dropped by to check out our pumpkin patch (see some of the pictures below!). Almost everyone stopped by to enter to win the 2008 Rhino that we are going to be giving away Easter Weekend at Glamis (yep, mark your calendars now, an event not to be missed!) And, well of course our shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other stuff that we were selling was flying out of the trailer! Just enough to keep us all busy!
Dirt Alliance and Glamis Dunes Storage had the Opening Kick off party on Friday and Saturday nights. I dropped over for a few on Friday and heard that Saturday night the place was rockin! Always a good time when the Dirt Alliance boys roll into town!
I never thought that it would be so entertaining to sit on the other side of the table on vendors row. But I must admit, I got to see a lot of really cool things, and some that just made me wonder “what was he thinking?!?!” As we all know, the sand family is a group of great people and I really enjoyed getting to talk to everyone that stopped and chatted.
The View From The Dunes:
Nick had the Sand Addiction Tatum car running the drags on Saturday. The car was running great and rolling hard in the 95+ degree heat! That is the car that is on the cover of our next issue of Sand Addiction. If you saw the car running and wondered what it was all about…in just a couple of weeks you will get to read all about it in the magazine!
Cody had his Side X Side Action rhino out, and well, no easy way to say it, the exhaust broke right in half at a head pipe weld. Woops! Luckily he was able to get it back to camp and get it up on the trailer. Just one more thing to do this week! On Sunday Cody headed out to do a photo shoot with Safari Offroad ~ watch for those pics in an upcoming issue of Sand Addiction.
I never even uncovered my dirt bikes. I rode in the sand car for a sunset ride on Friday and on Sunday I went out to shoot the third Safari Offroad car. The dunes had been ridden hard for 3 days and with no winds the sand was grooved from the big paddle tires. It was hard to find a nice spot to get some good pictures of the car, but finally we found a spot that put the fire red sunset into the background. Things always seem to work out!
Next Weekend:
Looks like it will only be in the 80’s ~ and lets say it is Halloween weekend all over again! Drop by with the kids and trick-or-treat, enter to win the 2008 Rhino, check out the latest issue of Sand Addiction and Side X Side Action magazine, and of course grab a t-shirt or two!
Rumor has it that Travis Pastrana and the Nitrus Circus along with Red Bull will be at the events area of Vendor Row. Stay tuned for details on the event. I will post it on our calendar as soon as I know!
See you next weekend!
