OH…another weekend closer to the sand. I picked up my “new” bike on Friday! Another KTM450EXC. This will be my first four stroke in the sand. I should finally be able to answer my own debate of the two stroke vs four stroke power in the sand. My strong hold Banshee and KTM 250 2-stroke have held up to the best of rides. But, I want more. So I decided to pick up another KTM450 and turn it into a sand only bike.
One of the best dirt bike mechanics in my mind is located in Salinas – Steve at Pinit Motorsports. He took the bike down to the core and refreshed everything in it. I picked it up on Friday and took it up to Team DAD who is the master of everything. He tinkered on it for a couple of days, and it didn’t really hit home until the paddle tire got mounted up…its time to ride!
I sat on it. I started it. I revved it up. I listened to the fresh piston go up and down. I adjusted the idle up. I revved it again! Oh yea, its time to ride.
If you have kids that are dressing up at Glamis for Halloween, be sure to bring them by our booth at vendor row before dark to Trick-or-Treat. We don’t know what weekend is Halloween weekend either…so both weekends surrounding Halloween will work. Let us see your desert goblins, ghosts and witches!
I have a lot more pictures from last weekend that I didn’t have time to post. Here is a link to the gallery that has some great shots. I was just out getting my fix, and I can see others were too! Enjoy!
